WEST LINN-WILSONVILLE YOUTH VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM
FALL LEAGUE
Fall Recreational Volleyball League has been expanded to include 7th and 8th graders. Our initial plan to start small has been adjusted to meet the needs of a community that is clearly ready for a strong youth recreational volleyball presence for all ages.

AGE GROUPS
3rd-4th Grade:
Oversized soft light volleyball.
6v6
5th-6th Grade:
Soft light OR 12-U Volleyball
6v6
7th-8th Grade:
Standard Volleyball
6v6
Each team will require 2-3 parent volunteer coaches. Coaches will teach basic volleyball skills and be trained to help referee matches.
*A professional referee will be hired for all 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade matches.
DATES
The 8 game season will be played on Saturdays starting the first week of school and running through the end of October.
1-1.5 hour practices are on weeknights, twice a week, beginning the the first week of September.
Each team will be assigned a set time and location with practice pairings of MON/WED or TUES/THUR.
LOCATIONS
We utilize gyms throughout the West Linn-Wilsonville School District.

3rd - 4th Grade - $175.00 - $150.00
5th - 8th Grade - $250.00 - $225.00
WAIT LIST
After our registration deadline or capacity has been met all players will go on a wait list. Players will be confirmed and assigned to teams if and when a team roster spot opens. Parents will be notified when their child has been moved off the wait list.
UNIFORMS
Uniforms will be available after the coaches have confirmed rosters, and before the first game. Players can wear athletic shorts or pants, athletic shoes and knee pads if desired.
WLWV branded sports gear is available for purchase from Hometown Sports.
TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
To help you better understand our process of recreational volleyball team assignments we have briefly summarized the team assignment process:
We first start by grouping players by grade, and the public school they do or would attend. Our goal is to assure adequate playing time at least 50% of each game, unless there is a disciplinary issue or missing players.
During the registration process we do allow for parents to “request” players or coaches. Parent coaches will always have their child on their team. Make note that while you may have requested a teammate or coach, we will not guarantee those accommodations.
Teams are limited to only two registered coaches. Other parents may help as long as one of the registered and approved coaches is present.
West Linn-Wilsonville Youth Volleyball coaches are all volunteers that dedicate significant amounts of time to the team. Please help the program out by supporting your coaches.
We do not allow coaches to pick their team or to add new players to their teams simply because they request a child. Any new kids are assigned based upon the process that we explained above.
